Salt Intake

March 28, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
The majority of Americans are consuming too much salt, that's according to a new report by the CDC. The most at risk groups include African-Americans and adults over 40. Adults in general should stick to 2,300 milligrams of salt a day or just about a teaspoon's worth.

High sodium intake is linked to a number of serious health problems including heart disease, strokes, and high blood pressure.
