Tulare Officer Involved Shooting

A pursuit involving a California Highway Patrol unit ended with a Tulare County Sheriff's deputy shooting at the suspect.It happened around 2:20am Monday morning.

A Tulare County Sheriff's deputy was making a traffic stop at Road 104 and Avenue 432 in the community of Sultana.

Nearby, a California Highway Patrol officer was also attempting to make a traffic stop. However, the car didn't stop and the driver rammed into the sheriff's vehicle.

The deputy then fired a shot at the suspect who ran off the roadway. 48-year-old Rebecca Picasso of Reedley was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and hit and run.

No one was injured.
