West Nile Virus Found in Fresno County

The first bird carrying the West Nile Virus for 2009 was found dead in Fresno County.The County Health Department confirmed the case this morning. The crow was found within the city limits of Fresno. So far no human cases have been reported in Fresno County for this year.

Authorities encourage residents to drain any standing water on their property and to use insect repellent for protection from mosquito bites.
