Power Outages In Northeast Fresno

Fresno, CA Wednesday night, some 6,200 people were without power: from Copper to Herndon and Millbrook to Sunnyside. Part of that area has lost power at three times this week.

The lights are back on now, but it's been a frustrating, few days in this neighborhood.

The power went out at about 8:30 p.m.

That means traffic signals were also out, at several intersections, including Cedar and Teague, where an 11 year old girl was hit and critically injured when two vehicles collided during a power outage that knocked out the signal lights.

Neighborhood residents said there have been at least four separate power outages this week. Some may have been heat related. PG&E said Wednesday's outage was because of underground equipment failure.

With outages likely to become more frequent as the weather heats up, motorists are reminded to use caution at any intersection.
