Huckaby Had Been Investigated in Arson Case

Fresno, Calif. La Palma Police in Orange County said Melissa Huckaby was considered a person of interest in two fires set at a home where she lived in 2007. She lived in the neighborhood for just a few months.

Huckaby is in the San Joaquin County Jail accused of murdering Sandra Cantu. The little girl was a playmate of Huckaby's five year old daughter.

A La Palma police captain said a gag order, issued Tuesday in the Cantu murder case prevented him from discussing Huckaby's connection to the arson case.

He said any investigation would stop while the murder case proceeded.
