SF County Supervisor Bribe Caught on Tape

April 23, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
The FBI has released video of a former San Francisco County Supervisor accepting a bribe. The undercover surveillance video from 2007 (in the above video) was released Wednesday; the same day that Ed Jew received jail time in a separate case.

The video shows Jew taking his time counting every bill. The FBI said there was $40,000 dollars in two stacks.

The video played a key role in the federal case against Jew. He pleaded guilty to extortion, bribery and public corruption earlier this month, and was sentenced to five years in federal prison.

Jew also received a year in county jail for lying on election documents about living in San Francisco. The court found he was actually living in Burlingame.
