Homes Demolished to Save Money

The tough housing market is causing some builders to go beyond abandoning their properties. They're now simply tearing them down. Demolition crews in the Southern California town of Victorville have began tearing down an entire subdivision that's been vacant since the housing crisis started.

Vandals and squatters helped accelerate the decline. The builder said it would have cost more than a million dollars to finish the homes, but it only costs $100,000 dollars to demolish them.
