Bike 2 Work Week Downtown Ride - May 13, 2009
Participating bicyclists from Fresno and Clovis will gather at Manchester Center near the Fresno Area Express (FAX) site on Blackstone Avenue between 7:45 am and 8:30 am to be escorted by Fresno Police Officers (on bicycles) to downtown Fresno to Fulton Mall.
Bike 2 Work Day / Corporate Challenge- May 14, 2009
The Fresno Bike to Work Corporate Challenge encourages individuals to leave their cars at home for the day and ride their bikes to work. The effort promotes active lifestyles and encourages the community to make one change in their daily routine - aligning its mission with the Air Districts ongoing Healthy Air Living initiative. Energy stations will be located throughout Fresno for riders to stop on their way to work to recharge with refreshments and visit with fellow cyclists. The Corporate Challenge is free and open to all businesses located in the Fresno area, online registration and information on other bike month events can be found at www.fresnobike.org. Corporate winners are determined according to the total miles ridden by company employees and all participants are entered to win prizes including a $1,000 bike giveaway. Winning teams will receive free t-shirts, a Team Winners Plaque and recognition as a Bike Friendly Employer.
