The crash happened around 4:30pm in the afternoon on southbound highway 99, just north of Shaw Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol says a man lost control of his pickup truck, hit the median, and then flipped over.
Another driver helped the man out of the truck, but then officers say he ran off. The C.H.P. had to shut down one lane of highway 99 bringing traffic to a near standstill.
Officers caught up with the man a short time later. They say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
