Water Wise Plant Exchange at Fresno State

May 17, 2009 1:19:05 PM PDT
Despite the heat, the city of Fresno is pushing people to conserve water in their landscaping, after several years of drought conditions.Today the city teamed up with several other community partners to host this 'Water Wise' plant exchange at Fresno State.

Organizers say its unknown how long these drought conditions will last, so it's important that people start to re-think their water usage now.

Nora Laikam, City of Fresno said, "One of the things they can do is look at water wise plants. Look at something that's friendly for San Joaquin Valley and learn to use them."

People were encouraged to come drop off and pick up water efficient plants, bulbs, and seeds, and learn more about how to save water in their landscaping.
