Fresno Grizzlies Drag Kings

At first glance, it's just another grounds crew doing its job, smoothing out the infield at Chukchansi Park. But once the music starts, the Drag Kings aren't just another grounds crew.

We're catching on to be kind of a global phenomenon, international phenomenon if you will.

What started as a quartet of friends looking to have fun; has turned into Fresno's most popular entertainment act since Kevin Federline.

Silkee, Drag King said, "I've been dancing all my life really. Since I can remember, poorly, but you know."

Jeeves, Drag King said. "They're going to be talking about what Jeeves did and how good he looks when he's dancing. So I got to make sure I bring it out and give them what they want."

The kid, Drag King said "I'm a pretty natural dancer. But these other guys aren't. It's a lot of work for them but you know I try to school them up the best I can to get them pumped up.

And patty melt, Drag King said, "It takes a lot of work to make four men of our dancing ability to be so synchronized and to really bring the house down.

From Beyoncé, to M.C. Hammer, to N-Sync, the Drag Kings have no trouble bringing the crowd to its feet.

When you first pop that move for that dance that we're playing, and you just start hearing the roar and the applause, and people telling their neighbor to watch and see what's going on. That gets the juices flowing and gets the adrenaline flowing.

So much so, that the smoothing part sometimes suffers.

Our groundskeeper wants us to do a decent job but definitely these other guys are the worst so they put me in the last position because I come in there and clean up all there mess.

I'm not really worried about dragging the field per se. I've been known to take out a couple foul lines. Which the umpires don't really like that but whatever. No one's really here to see them.

They are there, to see the Drag Kings.

And if there are any Grizzlies fans who have yet to fall for the group, the guys have a message for you.

If you don't have a big smile on your face after seeing four white guys out there trying to groove to some music that's way over their heads. Then you're probably too serious in life.

Come and party with us. Let's have some fun. It's that simple.
