Visalia Rescue Mission's Boutique Store

The folks at A South Valley homeless shelter are trying their hand at something unusual, high end retail. The Visalia rescue mission has just opened an upscale clothing boutique inside the thrift store it operates on South Mooney Boulevard in Visalia. The boutique is called "Simple Chic." Rescue mission employees decided to put some of the trendy clothing and women's accessories they receive through donations, up for sale as part of a separate women's boutique.

The rescue mission said the clothes are inexpensive and appeal to women of all ages and backgrounds. Jessica Van Ginkel with Visalia Rescue Mission said "This is just another niche way to get involved in the community in a different way and also involved lots of women in a way they wouldn't necessarily be involved in before, so it's been a lot of fun."

One hundred percent of the proceeds go towards feeding the homeless and other Visalia Rescue Mission programs.
