Proposition 8 Could be Decided Tuesday

The State Supreme Court will issue a decision on the legality of proposition 8, the constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. Voters approved the measure last NovemberThe justices also will decide whether to uphold the 1,800 gay marriages that took place before proposition 8 passed. Gay rights advocates have scheduled marches throughout California and in several other states tomorrow evening.

Gay rights supporters said if they lose this legal battle, they'll try to have proposition 8 repealed.
