For the past 24 years ... the group has planted more than 35-thousand trees around Fresno County.

They most recently planted trees on the campus of Valley Oak Elementary in Clovis.

"Tree Fresno" relies on donations and grants but officials fear that the state's budget problems could jeopardize their projects.

Jane Fortune the Executive Director of Tree Fresno said, "If these grants come through, maybe repayment -- cuz they're reimbursable grants--maybe if state freezes again we will not be reimbursed for these grants. So there is that fear."

Through "Operation Tied Up" Tree Fresno hopes to raise 50-thousand dollars.
