1,400 American Flags For Memorial Day Service

Fresno, CA 46 years ago Veterans from V.F.W post 884 started a tradition here that's just grown exponentially every year since and is a spectacular site.

They started with fewer than a dozen American flags in the 1960's, and Monday Valley Veterans will meet at Fresno Memorial Gardens at 7 AM to line the avenues of the cemetery with 1,400 flags.

It's considered the largest display of freestanding American flags in the west, and it will be the backdrop for Monday's Memorial Day Service at 11 am.
