Memorial Day Throughout the U.S.

Roaring into the nation's capitol, the sound of tailpipes marks the start of memorial day weekend.Thousands of bikers in D.C. to honor the fallen and those missing in action in the 22nd annual rolling thunder ride for freedom.

Sgt. Artie Muller, Rolling Thunder Executive Director said, "Let's not forget our troops that are serving over there now, don't turn your back on them. Everybody might not want to support a war, but let's support our troops. "

Stars like Katie Holmes, Trace Atkins and Gary Sinise came out to pay tribute in the annual P.B.S. National Memorial Day Concert on Sunday. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell spoke about those who will live with the scars of war.

Colin Powell, Former Secretary of State said, "They deserve no less than the finest care possible and the freedom of opportunity they fought for to live the best life they can. "

Sunday at Dover Air Force base, two soldiers killed in Iraq were brought back to the U.S. in the first memorial day weekend dignified transfer since the ceremonies were re-opened to the media. The caskets of 36-year-old Brian Naseman of Wisconsin and 35-year-old Paul Brooks of Missouri were carried home by their comrades.

Spec. Wilbert Steinborn, U.S. Army said, "It was very emotional. I don't know if it's sadness or pride or what, but it was honestly the most difficult and touching thing that i have ever done.

On his first memorial day in office, President Obama will lay a wreath at the tomb of the unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery. He'll deliver remarks shortly after.
