A small child is recovering from a bullet wound after gunfire erupted in a Vallejo alley. This time, a three-year-old girl was wounded as she lay sleeping in her own bed on York Street in Vallejo. There are at least 9 bullet holes that are visible on the exterior of the home and on a truck. This all happened around 3:00 a.m.. on Friday. Inside the house was a sleeping child. A neighbor said she heard the shots.

"Well I just heard some loud noises that woke me up in the middle of the night about 3:00 a.m.," said Debra a neighbor.

Police have some leads but will not confirm reports that there was a white car seen in the area before the shooting. They also will not confirm if the shooting happened from a vehicle or someone walking by in the alleyway.

As for the little girl, her injuries are not life threatening. She was shot once in the hip and at last word was in surgery at Children's Hospital in Oakland.
