The California Highway Patrol is investigating an accident in Fresno County that left two people dead. The accident happened just before 6 a.m. Thursday morning on Mount Whitney and Colusa, just west of Five Points.

The C.H.P. said the driver of a van lost control and flipped over as it was headed westbound on Mount Whitney.

When they arrived they found one victim in the van and the second on the side of the road. The C.H.P. said neither victim was the driver. "All we know for sure we have two confirmed fatalities and reports of a possible hit a run," said Jason Hunt with the Highway Patrol.

The C.H.P. is trying to find out if the van was being used as a farm labor van. They believe there may have been more passengers at the time of the accident.
