Some changes have been made to the way the city handles its cooling centers making it easier for people to understand when they will open.

Last summer the city had 2 different temperatures. Some people complained that the city's policy about when it would open the cooling centers and the pools was too confusing, so city leaders decided to that at 105 degrees it would open the cooling centers and the pools.

The other change happening this summer is fewer cooling centers will open when temperatures hit that 105 threshold. Instead of 11 cooling centers, only 6 will open.

The City of Fresno will still provide free bus transportation to any cooling center.
