Unlicensed Dentistry in Earlimart, Three Arrested

A man who's been practicing dental work in Earlimart has been arrested. Investigators say he's been filling cavities and doing other dental jobs in filthy conditions, and he doesn't have a license.On Monday, investigators raided an Earlimart home that's been converted into a dentist's office. Inside, detectives found dental molds, drugs, and a loaded revolver.

Forty year old Severo Medina Rivera and his two assistants were handcuffed. Rivera was arrested for practicing without a license. But some of his patients say he was providing a service to the community.

Patients tell Action News, Rivera received dental training in Mexico. He's been released from jail on a ten-thousand dollar bond and is scheduled to be back in court later this month.
