The size of the event may have surprised many, but fans say it showed how great /*Michael Jackson*/ was and how much he will be missed.

"I believe it was right. We're talking about a legend that was known all over the world, and I don't think there's anybody who can compare to him as far as being able to touch all four points of the world," Benitez said.

In Tulare, the Galaxy Theatre was one of just three California theatres to broadcast the event live for a crowd of Jackson fans of all ages.

"I like the way he dances. I like his songs," said Janelle Johnson.

In Fresno, the African American Museum hosted a remembrance celebration.

Museum President, Vanessa Richardson said, "All of us weren't able to be in Los Angeles but we are able to gather here and it's wonderful."

Benitez said being at the ceremony was a life changing experience. He said, "The whole funeral vibe was throughout the crowd and there was a lot of people crying and emotional but I definitely believe that everybody who attended the service left a different person."

Bethany Agbisit put it this way, "It was just indescribable. It's was just a great memorial, a great remembrance. It was more a celebration of Michael Jackson's life and everything positive that he did."
