Fresno Police were busy Saturday morning investigating two crime scenes to figure out why one man was shot dead. The shooting happened on South Vagedes in Southwest Fresno off of Jensen.Police have no suspects at this time. The two people who drove the victim to the hospital from this home were taken to police head quarters for questioning.

Shortly before noon Saturday the entrance to the Community Regional Medical Center E.R. was taped off by the police. A young man in his early 20s was shot at this home in Southwest Fresno.

"I hear somebody, the shooting. Like one time. I wake up," said Luon Pain.

Pain quickly checked to make sure his family was safe. The gun shot he heard came from a nearby home in this caldasac.

"There's some evidence located inside the residence," said Lt. Gregg Sanders.

Sanders said after the shooting a young man and woman rushed the victim to the hospital in this black Honda Civic. "When officers got here the subject was pronounced deceased," said Sanders.

For several hours cars were not allowed near the emergency room entrance. Patients and visitors were routed around the crime scene and then checked by security before allowed inside. Some time after arriving at the hospital doctors pronounced the shooting victim dead.

Sanders: "In the upper portion of his body I can tell you that much. He was shot in the upper portion."

Investigators said so far evidence and witness statements lead to different versions of what went on in this home Saturday morning.

"Possibly gang-related but they're not for sure," said Sanders.

Due to a language barrier police had to bring in a translator. This is the 22nd homicide of the year. That is the same number as last year at this time.
