Madera Sheriff's Deputy Nearly Shot

An off-duty Madera County Sheriff's Deputy was shot at on his way home from work Thursday morning.27-year old Arturo Garcia was caught after a search in Fresno County near Humboldt and Shields.

The deputy was not hit or injured and was able to follow Garcia from Madera to Fresno County.

Authorities said Garcia pulled up to the deputy's unmarked car in Madera County and fired at least two shots from a shotgun. Authorities say the suspect crashed and ran off into a vineyard in Fresno County.

Garcia was later found near a trailer. Authorities also recovered the shotgun.
