Fresno Sheriff's Deputy Thanks Rescuers

Deputy George Ozburn made his first public appearance alongside Angel Rocha and Yvette Dader.

In July, Deputy Ozburn responded to a call at an automotive shop. When investigators said, Jesus Serna shot at Ozburn. Bullet fragments hit Ozburn in the right shoulder. Rocha and Dader happened to be driving by when they stopped to help.

Deputy Ozburn said, "I wish I could say something or I had the words or I had studied some sort of literature in college as opposed to evidence collecting ... because I don't know how to express enough gratitude for what they did."

Investigators shot and killed the suspect Jesus Serna. Ozburn remains on medical leave while he recovers. He hopes to return to work in the next six months. But Ozburn thinks Reno, the K9 deputy may return to work before he does.
