Clean-up crews are working to clear a load of watermelons off the road ... At the intersection of Whitesbridge and Madera.Firefighters said a tractor trailer caught fire around 9:30 Wednesday night. When the truck driver pulled into a gas station ... his load of watermelons spilled onto the street.

Some nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution. Right now we don't know why the truck caught fire ... or how the hundreds of watermelons ended up on the road. No one was hurt in the accident.

The abc30 Live Traffic Tracker shows Highway 180 right near Highway 145 will be closed for sometime ... until the watermelons can be cleared from the road.
