26 percent of students are proficient in English and math this year compared to 19 percent in 2006. While great progress is being made schools still have a long way to go to reach district goals.
In math, 39 percent of students are proficient or advanced.
Hanson said that improves the lives of nearly 2,000 students. "That's 2,000 students graduating on time, that's 2,000 students gainfully employed."
