Kids got free medical screenings and eye exams to make sure they get a healthy start. They also got the tools they need to succeed in the classroom. "I think more importantly, we were providing our youth with free school supplies. We have backpacks and they were filled with binders, and pencils, and crayons. So on Monday, when they start school, they're ready to go. They have the supplies that they need to get them started," said Yolanda Randles with the West Fresno Health Care Coalition.
The kids will also be starting the year with a fresh haircut which was also free of charge. Some of them will be riding to school on new bikes, donated by the Kiwanis Club of East Fresno.
