Truck Hits 2 Porterville Police Cars; One head-on

Fresno, Calif. The accident happened on Olive Avenue near Westwood around 5 p.m. The CHP said a truck drifted across the center line and struck one patrol car head-on. The truck spun around and collided with another patrol car that was following the first car.

One officer was flown by helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with major injuries. The driver in the truck also suffered major injuries.

The CHP said the other officer was also hospitalized with moderate injuries.
