Michael Jackson funeral date pushed back

LOS ANGELES Michael Jackson's brother Randy Jackson was expected to testify, but is not going to testify now. Instead, the court is hearing from AEG's side. Katherine Jackson has opposed the AEG deal for several reasons, and the family has said they do not feel it is in the best interest of the Jackson estate.

Video of the rehearsals for the London tour has been made into a movie, and Sony Pictures has announced they are moving up the release date for that movie. It will be released on October 28, and tickets will go on sale in late September.

AEG wants to time the exhibit tour to the opening of a film based on footage of Jackson's final rehearsals.

A judge wants to hear testimony about the proposed deal so that he can decide whether to give it his approval.

A spokesman for the Jackson family says the King of Pop's funeral has been postponed until Sept. 3, five days after the singer's birthday. It was supposed to take place August 29.

Apparently there were some scheduling conflicts, and the family decided to push the date back.

The funeral will still be held at Forest Lawn in Glendale.

Friends of Jackson are talking about the workload he was under in the weeks and days leading up to his sudden death on June 25.

"When I realized it was 50 days over six months, I thought perhaps he could pull it off, but I really gotta tell you, I just think that he might have gotten through 10 of them, maybe 15, before we would have been seeing a lot of cancellations for exhaustion and dehydration," said J. Randy Taraborreili, a Michael Jackson biographer.
