Fire Burns Near Morris Dam

August 25, 2009 9:01:29 AM PDT
A forest fire in southern California is keeping firefighters busy. At least 250 acres have now burned in the Angeles National Forest, above the towns of Azusa and Glendora. The fire broke out around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, in mostly wooded areas. So far, no reports of any buildings being damaged.

But the flames got dangerously close to several emergency crews' vehicles ... forcing them to drive off.

At least six hundred firefighters are helping battle the flames. The LA County Sheriff's Department had to evacuate some campers and hikers.

Fire officials say low humidity and steady winds helped fan the flames.
