Yosemite Fire Contained, Roads Reopening

A major roadway through Yosemite National Park is expected to re-open Tuesday after being closed because of a wildfire.Crews expect to re-open Big Oak Flat Road at 5 p.m. Tuesday Afternoon. Tioga Road opened Sunday.

The Big Meadow Fire is now 100-percent contained. People living near where the fire burned have been allowed to return home.

The fire started as a prescribed burn, but got out of control. Flames scorched more than 7,400 acres since it broke out two weeks ago.
