September 28, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
Some good Samaritans rescued a man from a fiery accident along Southbound Highway 99 at Central Monday morning in Fresno County. A high school classmate happened to be driving by and saw the burning car on the side of the highway. He and other drivers stopped and helped pull the man from the wreckage.

That's when he realized that he knew the victim.

The injured man was taken to Community Regional hospital where he is expected to be okay. The California Highway Patrol said that he was driving above the speed limit when he swerved from one side of the highway and crashed.
