October 6, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
A Merced County Couple had their children taken away after a deputy found their young kids home alone. A deputy said he found three girls, ages four, six and eight alone in an apartment in Winton, Monday.

29-year-old Ambrosia Valle and 36-year-old Nepamuseno Vega were arrested for child endangerment and neglect. They are both in jail on $55,000 dollars bail.

They arrived home while the deputy was at the apartment.

This is the sixth time deputies have been to the home on a report the kids were being left unattended.

The two also face animal cruelty charges. Three dogs were inside the home covered in lice and open sores. They were taken by Animal Control.
