Wednesday morning, People Magazine posted the first, current photo of Dugard on their website. The picture comes along with an interview with the magazine.
Jaycee said despite the traumatic ordeal, she is trying to get back to a normal life with her mother and the two daughters fathered by the man accused of kidnapping her 18-years ago.
A spokesperson for the Dugard family, Erica Shulte, talked about Jaycee's decision to take the photo Wednesday, on Good Morning America. "She wants to maintain her privacy. And certainly not step into the spotlight. She did want to thank everyone and really let everyone see how happy she is and see how she's enjoying this and how glad she is to be home."
The suspect in the case, Phillip Garrido remains in jail for kidnapping Jaycee and holding her hostage.
