Cleaning crews ripped up soaked carpets and tore out baseboards in the building Wednesday morning. They say rainwater flooded the entire east side of the building's bottom floor.

There were also concerns that the water had seeped into the electrical system, so the fire department temporarily turned it off. But county officials say no equipment was damaged, and the rest of Mariposa weathered the storm fairly well.

The Government Center is expected to re-open Thursday morning.
