Gasperetti Named World Champion of Mutton Bustin

Fresno, CA About thirty kids from across the country did their best to hang on to some speedy sheep in hopes of taking the title.

Some of the young riders even managed to stay on after their animals crashed into the rest of the flock.

A huge crowd cheered them on, and also enjoyed some mutton dancing by a wooly mascot.

In the end, Preston Gasperetti from Colorado walked away the winner, taking home a special belt buckle, and a $5-thousand dollar savings bond.

This was the first time the world championships were ever held in Fresno, but an agreement has just been reached to bring the event back for at least the next three years.
