A One Thousand Dollar Story

Mauricio Hanono gave a one thousand dollar bill to his son as a wedding gift. The rare greenback features President Grover Cleveland, and was discontinued after World War Two.

They put the bill into a safety deposit box, and Mauricio and his son both thought the other was paying the rent on it.

The deposit box eventually defaulted and was turned over to the state. It could have been auctioned off, but Florida officials were able to track down Mauricio, and returned the cash to him this afternoon.
