Fresno Police Officer Saves Man from Burning House

A Fresno Police officer is being credited for saving a man from a house fire.Officer Jeff Lee was on patrol Thursday night when he saw smoke coming from a Northeast Fresno neighborhood.

He drove around until he found where the smoke was coming from; a house on Augusta and Menlo. A neighbor told him there was someone in the house.

Officer Lee found a man trying get out of a bedroom window. The man was taken to the hospital with minor smoke inhalation.

The fire department quickly brought the fire under control.

They believe the fire started in the man's minivan parked in the garage and spread toward the bedroom where the man was sleeping. They say smoke detectors had gone off, but the man apparently didn't hear them.
