Fresno Man Attempts to Rob His Own Father

FRESNO, Calif. The series of crimes started in Southeast Fresno around 7:00 p.m. at the man's home near Willow and Platt. It ended in Southwest Fresno at Thorne and Dunn with the suspects in custody.

Fresno Police say the man's adult son and two accomplices forced their way into his home, abducted him, and ordered him at gunpoint to drive to an ATM machine to get money. They followed in a white van.

Lt. Anthony Martinez said, "While heading toward the bank the victim saw a police car who was unaware of the incident and began driving erratically to get the officers attention. And when that happened the suspects just fled the area."

The police helicopter helped track down the suspects' van in Southwest Fresno. The three suspects all face a long list of felony charges. The victim suffered minor injuries in the attack.
