Veterans Day Parade in Downtown Fresno

All day Tuesday they put the finishing touches on the float honoring Navy divers. The display shows the history and importance of Navy divers and will be one of the first floats in the parade making its way through Downtown Fresno.

Wednesday, the Veterans Day parade begins at 10:30 a.m. in front of Fresno City Hall.

Road closures begin at 8 a.m.

The route goes past the Veterans Memorial Auditorium and ends at Chukchansi Park.

The parade is expected to wrap up around 3 p.m.

A special guest will be among the Valley veterans being honored Wednesday.

Hmong leader General Vang Pao is expected to attend the parade, along with a few hundred Hmong veterans.

Vang fought alongside U.S. soldiers in the Vietnam War.

In September, the government dropped federal conspiracy charges against him in an alleged plot to overthrow the government of Laos.
