High Speed Chase in Clovis and Foothills

November 16, 2009 12:00:00 AM PST
The driver of a stolen vehicle took Clovis Police and the Highway Patrol on an hour long chase through the foothills. It started at Ashlan and Clovis Avenue; but ended at Highway 168 and Academy.

Clovis Police said the driver reached speeds of 70 miles per hour, but slowed down when he got to the winding roads through Prather and Auberry.

The C.H.P. eventually used a spike strip to stop the man. He surrendered.

Officers arrested the passenger in the car as well. They're both believed to be on parole.
