Several months ago, charges against Vang Pao were dropped for conspiracy to overthrow his former government. Since then, he has been able to travel freely around the U.S. to other Hmong communities.
Every year at this time, Hmong come together to celebrate their heritage and honor their leader. Vang Pao will be at the Fresno Fairgrounds next week to celebrate the official beginning of the Hmong New Year. Every year, thousands show up for traditional food, dance and celebration.
