Santa Claus Visits East Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. The Fresno Police Department teamed up with the Kiwanis Club Monday night to offer a dinner for kids and their parents at harmony church.

Every child got a toy for Christmas, from "Toys For Tots"; like a brand new bike.

Chief Jerry Dyer said the program allows local families to interact with officers besides just on the street. "This is an opportunity to see our officers in a positive fashion; serving food, giving out toys. That's what's really important today."

About 250 families were pre-selected for last night's dinner and gift giveaway.
