Merced Police Search for Stabbing Suspect

FRESNO, Calif. Police say around 6 p.m. Monday night, a man and his friend were walking from a convenience store near 12th and "G" streets when two robbers approached them, demanding their property.

Police say when the men didn't have anything; one of the robbers stabbed one of the men several times.

The man was taken to the hospital and died. The other victim and the attempted robbers ran away.

The name of the man who died has not been released.
