Apartment Fire near Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. Emergency calls came in around 2 o'clock Tuesday morning from an apartment complex along Bulldog Lane in Northeast Fresno.

When fire crews arrived, one unit was engulfed in flames. One person who lived in the burned apartment was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for smoke inhalation. There were no other injuries.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the single unit.

They say smoke detectors were in the unit and worked to alert the resident. Damage to the apartment is estimated at $75,000 dollars.
