Despite the three murders, police say Visalia residents shouldn't worry about the murder rate.
"I'm not going to say it's a crime wave. It's just unusual for is to have anything of this nature so early this year," said Sgt. Jim Carr Visalia Police Department. "Our crime rate has decreased over the last few years. This is just an oddity that's happened that sometimes occurs."
The Violent Crimes Unit isn't releasing many details about the murders, but they say one started as a family dispute and they're not ruling out gang activity in the other two.
