Nearly 700 people marched through downtown Fresno to honor Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., despite the gloomy weather.

"Martin Luther King was all about a dream, a movement. It's not just one day, it's a philosophy," said Dolores Sanchez with AARP.

Dr. King would have celebrated his 81st birthday this month. Many say volunteers will help Dr. King's legacy continue.

Here in the Valley, members of the community are holding food drives for farmers in West Fresno County.

Nearly 30 doctors, nurses and hospital technicians from Kaiser Permanente also volunteered with habitat humanity instead of taking the day off.
