At about 6,000 feet, the snow continuously fell for most of Monday. The snowfall at Sierra Summit looked significant and dramatic. But staff said this is how an average ski day should look. If the storm keeps dumping snow like this, then skiers could be in for a fantastic season.
Boomer Devaurs with Sierra Summit Ski Resort says the snow would have to fall all week long to completely cover the mountain. He said, "The skiers and snowboarders out there are going to be excited. One, to have some deep powder snow to play in and also for the longevity of the season."
Tamara Lauria from Clovis said, "I love this, this is a good experience for me. I've never seen it snow before."
While snow attracts adventurers, snow plows remain on duty, clearing the highways because the conditions could quickly turn dangerous.
