Attorneys for the inmate showed Action News love letters allegedly written by Quintanilla. 34-year-old Richard Burrell says the former guard brutally abused him while behind bars.
After Action News ran this story in November, Sheriff Mims placed the guard on paid leave. Mims would not tell us if Quintanilla resigned or was fired.
The District Attorney's office is still reviewing the case to see if criminal charges will be filed.
