The Sheriff's Department displayed the stockpile they found Thursday at a home in the Del Rey area. They said the Galvans had nine guns, including six assault rifles, as well as more than two-thousand rounds of assault rifle ammunition.
/*Sheriff Margaret Mims*/ said the seizure could stop a crime wave. "Over the past year, there have been five shootings in the Del Rey area, so we believe taking these weapons off the streets will significantly impact the gun violence that has been going on."
Investigators are now trying to connect the seized weapons to those shootings.
